WELCOME
"As I became a seasoned parent, and the world changed, newer, more complex challenges arose. Mental and emotional health & wellbeing were at the forefront of our difficulties as a whole family.
As our family aged and grew, "The village" seemed a thing of the past.
I'd never felt so alone and lost.
No one should feel that way. So I created Found North East for parents.
Together we are Found. "

Get to Know Us
Laura, Our Creator and Director designed the whole business around her families experiences. Having solo parented for, well, all of her adult life, she wasn't inexperienced to a challenge or two. But as covid struck and her career moved towards becoming a psychologist, both of her children started to struggle. They both sat on long waiting lists for mental health support and assessments.
Laura didn't have her village, and barely clung on to parenting with the psychological knowledge and experience she had picked up professionally. Her own wellbeing was starting to slip.
She often wondered about other parents, struggling. Having spent 5 years working in trauma informed services, and learning about the nervous system and the brain, it seemed frustrating that the majority of the things that would have been helpful to her and similar families; that she was teaching in her job, aren't taught to children and families. Something had to change. So began the development of games and products and books.

When her job in the NHS could no longer accommodate her families needs, Laura took the terrifying leap to leave her career trajectory, her full time job and picked up the pieces of Found North East she'd been slowly building on the side, in the hopes to help other families like hers.

Our mission is simple;
To empower and include parents, families, and communities on their mental and emotional wellbeing journey, regardless of diagnosis or label.
Together, we are Found.
